Summer Transfer Window Speculation & Signings
With the weather hotting up and Euro 2012 just around the corner, the transfer speculation is beginning to get more frequent, with the Premier League and it’s clubs in negotiations with Europe’s top talent. This week, we’re hearing confirmed signings for several Premier League clubs while other players are still deciding which team they’ll be joining next season. The pick of the most recent transfer rumours are as follows:
Eden Hazard has apparently made up him mind on where he’ll be playing, after Tweeting about in on Monday morning. We’re unsure as to whether it’ll be Manchester City, Manchester United or Chelsea yet – can this guy PLEASE put us out of our misery sooner rather than later. Hazard’s Tweet stated “good afternoon guys. i made up my mind. see you later. thanks”.
Manchester United are rumoured to have had a £13million bid for Dortmund’s Shinji Kagawa turned down and accoring to the Daily Mail, will set up their offer over the next couple of weeks. United are also rumoured to be lining up a bid for Crewe youngster Nick Powell. Powell is likely to cost around £4million.
Swansea have apparently agreed a £7million deal with Hoffenheim to secure the services of Gylfi Sigurdsson permantely. The Iceland midfielder was on loan at the Liberty Stadium last season, but Welsh outfit Swansea are prepared to shatter their transfer record to ensure Sigurdsson is their top signing of the summer.
Robin Van Persie has still not commited his future to Arsenal.
New boys Reading, have confirmed the signing of Garath McCleary from Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.
Newly promoted West Ham have snapped up Portsmouth’s Stephen Henderson for an undisclosed fee.
Newcasle United have signed 22-year-old French midfielder Romain Amalfitano from Reims.
Brett Holman (AZ Alkmaar) has finally completed his move to Aston Villa on a free transfer.
