Latest Transfer Rumours

More from the Summer Transfer Rumour Mill

July 27, 2012 by PLT in Latest Transfer Rumours with 0 Comments

With July quickly drawing to a close, most Premier League clubs have already strengthened their squads ahead of the new season. The 2012 Summer transfer window is still open until 31 August for confirmed deals to be done, which means that there’s plenty of negotiating left for clubs to further prepare themselves for the 2012/13 campaign. The latest transfer rumours being reported by the media include the following:

Manchester United target Lucas Moura, 19, is likely to be staying at Sao Paulo after United had a bit rejected for the Brazilian youngster. First Moura’s agent confirmed that United had ‘reached their limit’ with a bid in the region of £27million. Now, sports website talkSPORT cover the full story, quoting Sao Paulo director Adalberto Baptista who has confirmed that the deal is dead, telling ESPN Brazil:

“There are no negotiations going on. Everybody knows that we got an offer for  him, and rejected it. It’s also known that Lucas doesn’t want to leave. The only  person keeping the expectations alive is his agent…………..The decision is final”

Chelsea have signed Oscar from Internacional. After we reported that a Chelsea bid was accepted last week, the deal has now been confirmed. Oscar is currently with the Brazilian Olympic squad in England. Roberto Di Matteo has been speaking highly of Oscar’s potential. The Brazilian attacking midfielder is unlikely to be the last of Chelsea’s Summer signings with reports suggesting they are interested in Marseille’s Spanish right-back Cesar Azpilicueta, 22.

The Daily Mail report that Swansea have stressed they will not be selling Joe Allen to Liverpool, even if ex-boss Brendan Rodgers meets the £15million release clause in Allen’s contract. Rodgers apparently signed an agreement that he wouldn’t approach any of Swansea’s players for 12 months, after moving north to Merseyside to replace Kenny Dalglish as Liverpool manager.

New Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is switching his attention to Ipswich defender Aaron Cresswell following complications during negotiations with Feyenoord’s Ron Vlaar. Cresswell would cost in the region of £6million.

Arsenal have apparently agreed terms with Málaga winger Santi Cazorla. All that remains is for a fee to be agreed with the Spanish club before the deal completes. The fee is likely to be around £16million, according to various reports.
