Reports in the press suggest that Manchester United have agreed a £3million fee with Universidad de Chile for 18-year-old forward Angelo Henriquez. Both the Daily Mail, and Manchester United’s official website ManUtd.com have published a story linking the player with a move to Old Trafford. The Chilean youngster is one of the hottest properties in Chilean football and is seen as a rising star who could have a similar impact on the Premier League as United’s Mexican striker Javier Hernandez. The signing, if true, would back up Sir Alex Ferguson’s policy of signing youth talent rather than established names. ManUtd.com reports that a deal will be complete this summer, although United may have to loan him out to a European club because Henriquez is yet earn a senior cap by playing for the Chilean national team.

Henriquez has been on the Man United radar for some time, having only started playing football at the age of 13, previously being a promising tennis player. The Universidad first team striker has been in impressive form, scoring 8 goals in 10 matches for his club side, while also shining at International level, for Chile’s Under 15 and Under 17 age groups according to the Daily Mail. In order to finalise the deal for the teenage sensation, United are hoping to secure a ‘special talent’ visa.

Meanwhile, various newspapers are still reporting that Luka Modric is close to securing a move to Old Trafford.

Man Utd should try buying luka modric, cos he is the only one who can replace paul scholes at the midfield inspite the absence of pogba and absence of tom cleverley due to injury. he is indeed very talented and if i were to be a coach i wouldn’t give it a second thought in signing the great croatia midfielder.
