Harry Redknapp Hints at Tottenham Signings
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has today left the biggest hint yet that his Tottenham Hotspur side will enter the January transfer window. In his own column in The Sun newspaper, Redknapp suggested:
‘if we could find a couple of new faces to improve us even further over the next month, then who knows where this season could take us?’
We’ve all followed Spurs with much interest over the last couple of years during transfer windows and Harry’s ‘wheeler dealer’ attitude and excitement at the opportunity to add to his squad has always been hugely entertaining. Redknapp reveals in The Sun newspaper that injuries could cause his side major problems and that if he can find a player or two to add value to his squad then he will make new signings, however he was quick to add that as his team improves each year, it gets continually tougher to add value and improvements to an already fantastic squad. He added:
‘The problem we have now when we look for players is that the better you get, the more difficult it is to find someone who will take you even higher.
Believe me, there aren’t that many out there — but we won’t fall down on that score through a lack of looking’
Redknapp added that Tottenham’s push for the Premier League this season depends in results in January and that come the end of the month he’ll have a clearer picture of whether a title charge is possible. The Tottenham boss also believes that this side could benefit from an exit from the Europa League competition, although claimed that he never likes to lose a game and therefore fielding weaker teams as the competition progresses is largely unlikely.
