Fantasy Premier League Tips – Gameweek 29 Tips – Midfielders
Following yesterday’s gameweek 29 tips for goalkeepers and defenders, we’re now looking at the best midfielders for gameweek 29. Our Fantasy Premier League gameweek 29 tips for midfielders look at the form, chance of assists and possibility of goals in order to give all fantasy premier league managers the best chance of climbing and topping their mini-leagues.
In case you’ve not had a chance to look at the fixtures yet, it’s worth noting than both Manchester United and Arsenal have what could be a relatively easy run of fixtures. Obviously, it’s the Barclays Premier League and anything can happen with teams at the top fighting for titles and European positions, and teams at the bottom battling to fight against relegation, but fixtures are usually a pretty good indication of where the points are going to be won. Arsenal’s next 3 fixtures are Everton away, Villa at home, QPR away, while we’ve already mentioned in our gameweek 29 tips for goalkeepers and defenders that Man United face Wolves, Fulham, Blackburn, QPR and Wigan in their next five matches. Based on analysis of this weeks fixtures, and some of the upcoming gameweek fixtures, our fantasy premier league gameweek 29 tips for midfielders are as follows:
Ashley Young – Man United – £9.8m (A) vs Wolves
The recent rush by fantasy football managers to transfer in Ashley Young has seen his price increase to £9.8m. With Nani still a doubt, and Valencia only a possibility for Sunday, Young is the best choice amongst Man United midfielders in gameweek 29. He’s also in fine form, with 30 points from his last 3 gameweeks.
Theo Walcott – Arsenal – £8.9m (A) vs Everton
At £8.9m, Theo is at the lower end of the expensive midfielders list in the fantasy Premier League. Looking at the assists for Arsenal this season, it’s often been difficult to predict who is going to set up the goals for goal machine RVP. However recent Premier League and European form suggests that Walcott is one of more likely players to assist, while also being in with a decent chance of a goal as well.
Clint Dempsey – Fulham – £9.4 (H) vs Swansea
Fulham at home = a Dempsey goal. Well, more often than not anyway. Apart form facing Man United in gameweek 30, Fulham have a pretty decent run of games where Clint Dempsey can help fantasy premier league managers pick up points. Firstly, they face Swansea at home in gameweek 29, then following the trip to Old Trafford, face Norwich at home in gameweek 31 and Bolton away in gameweek 32. With Fulham boss Martin Joll less likely to tinker with his starting lineup than Roberto Mancini, or Sir Alex, we feel that Dempsey is a better selection than some of the other expensive midfielders in the fantasy premier league over the next few gameweeks.
James Morrison – West Brom – £5.4m (A) vs Wigan
Morrison, like most West Brom midfielders is pretty cheap in comparison to other midfielders in the fantasy Premier League therefore gives fantasy football managers easy access to some decent points without breaking the bank. In gameweek 29 West Brom travel to Wigan who are fighting relegation, but with Wigan short of goals at home this season, we’re predicting that it’ll be West Brom on top and suggest that West Brom’s top points scoring midfielder Morrison, with 4 goals and 4 assists to his name, can add to his tally at the DW Stadium.
Gareth Bale – Tottenham – £9.6m (H) vs Stoke City
If Tottenham are to maintain their lead over rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, they’ll need to pick themselves up after 2 consecutive losses, and will be relying on Gareth Bale to get them back to winning ways. Many fantasy premier league managers will have been frustrated by the recent form of Spurs and Bale, however with a home match against Stoke City in gameweek 29, we’re predicting that Bale will provide you with some valuable points. After all, he’s still the highest scoring midfielder in this seasons fantasy premier league.

I’m thinking of getting Young too, but do you not think that Lampard may deliver?

If you can afford Lampard then it could be a great chance to do something different from everyone else! He should be a regular now AVB has gone.
