Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 36 Tips – It’s up for grabs now!

April 24, 2012 by PLT in Fantasy Premier League Tips with 11 Comments

It’s finally here. Bumper double gameweek 36 is nearly upon us and it’s time to look at the potential candidates from each club who could literally make or break your season as you bid to win your mini-league or win your personal battles with colleagues, friends and foe. Our Fantasy Premier League gameweek 36 tips look at the usual mix of goalkeepers, defenders, midfielfers and forwards, taking a look at the key players from clubs playing twice (remember it’s a double gameweek for 8 clubs), while keeping an eye on gameweek 37 as well.

Firstly we want to make a few points ahead of FPL gameweek 36. The first is that we don’t think that points will necessarily be won in defence as the fixtures prove tricky to predict. We feel it’s more likely that the REAL points will be gained through your midfield or forward line. Therefore if you’re looking at making a few transfers, using your wildcard (if you still have the luxury of having it to hand), or even if you’re willing to drop a few points with your gameweek 36 transfers, then keep the following points in mind:

Fantasy Football Tips for Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 36

  • Don’t be afraid to transferring out (selling) some of your more expensive names). Many fantasy premier league managers got rid of Robin Van Persie to afford Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez before gameweek 35′s fixtures and it paid off. So again, this week, as it’s all about points up for grabs, don’t be afraid to sign in cheaper players who are more likely to give you the advantage over other managers. You may well find some of the more expensive players lose value ahead of gameweek 36, so you should still be able to afford to transfer them back in before gameweek 37 begins.
  • The MASSIVE game in the Premier League between Saturday and Monday is the Manchester derby between Manchester United and Manchester City, but the potential title decider could well be a game that fantasy managers choose to avoid with their squad selection as it’s so difficult to predict the outcome.
  • There are 8 teams playing twice in gameweek 36. The list again, in case you missed it in our earlier gameweek posts, is as follows; Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham, Chelsea, Newcastle, Stoke, Bolton and Fulham.
  • Everton play Wolves in GW 37 so if you’re after a few players who you can keep for the next gameweek, Everton players may be the ones to top your list.

So, after a bit of background ahead of gameweek 36 (which is played between 28th April and 2nd May) here are our Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 36 tips. We’ve given you bundles of choice this time, as it’s a bumper gameweek with lots at stake. The reason for the slightly extended list is that you can obviously only select 3 players from any one team but a mixture of the following names should stand you in good stead:

    haha..hello =)
your post really gave me confidence for the week cus it has so many of my players this week =D

so am i good to go ?

    my team is =
    bogdan(vorm)
    hibbert,williamson,simpson(taylor,rafeal)
    siggy,bale,VDV,pienaar,cabaye
    RVP, rooney,suarez

i feel i have a really good team for the week…and if the players like bale, vdv and suarez actually start to put the ball in the net instead of hitting the post..it would really do me a huge favour =D

    btw…out of my front 8..who am i to sub yeah?..thats a really headache..=/

I know it’s a risk, but perhaps RVP should be on the bench for you this week Mat. Rooney’s in better form and your midfield is very strong.

wao..RVP on the bench ..really cant seem to bring my self to do that…=)..but i think im gonna do it this week…cus actully it was down to siggy or RVP to bench this week for me.. =)
the rest of the 6 i was sure to start them…but i guess ur rite…siggy vs relegated wolves…i think is a better choice too instead of an off form RVP =)
haha..yeah..im sure to play rooney..if manutd were to get anything out of etihad..sure rooney will be in the mix =)
actually, im thinking of giving rooney the armband this week..but nvm..i will wait to counter check with ur captain picks for the week bearing the double gameweek points up for grabs..so i will decide when i have read ur post on the captain pick.. =)

thanks again yeah..really appriciate ur help =]

    Hi there!

Trying to get as many double players in as possible this week and have already used my two free transfers I had. But do you think it’s worth taking the 4 point penalty to bring in another double week player?

    My team:

    GK: Mignolet (Bogdan)

Defence: Kompany, Evans, Gibbs, (Kelly, Cahill)

Midfield: Sigurdsson, Dempsey, Ben Arfa, Valencia, (Sessegnon)

    Attack: Cisse, Rooney, Jelavic

I am considering taking the penalty to transfer out Sessegnon and replace him with Piennar. I would then drop Valencia to the bench. Do you think this is worth it?

Also another cheeky question.. I have captained Cisse but Jelavic and Dempsey are also good options. Any opinion?

    Thanks for your help!!! :)

Plenty of managers will be taking a 4 point hit so don’t worry too much about it. I’d start Cahill, if fit as Chelsea play twice and your idea of getting pienaar seems logical too. Jelavic probably just edges cisse as captain choice this gameweek but you should be ok with either.

    Vorm (Krul)
    Gibbs, Simpson, Kilgallion (Taiwo, Evans)
Bale, Ben Arfa, Sessegnon, Sigurdsson, Dempsey
    Aguero, RVP, Tevez

I wanna go all out on this gw coz i’m behind 36 points.
    i thought about
    Sessegnon -> Pienaar
    Krul –> Mignolet/Howard
Tevez/Aguero (my opponent has Aguero) –> Jelavic
    RVP/ Tevez —> Cisse

i also need to know who to sub coz my midfield looks good.
Should i bench one of my strikers and go with Cisse and Jelavic?

    • PLTApril 26, 2012 at 8:34 pmReply

Hi sun, jelavic and cisse would be a good shout to do something different to your competitor and pienaar in for sessegnon makes sense too. Perhaps 3-5-2 and bench a striker, but obviously not one playing twice. Personally I’d keep Krul. Even if he concedes goals in gw36 he might get points from saves made.

Hello, I just had a few questions regarding my team for this week. I’m fine with the midfield but is it worth taking a hit to bring in Jelavic?

Also, is it likely Enrique will start? Its a toss up between him and Evans as Enrique is playing twice.

    Vorm(Ruddy)
    Enrique, Simpson, Williams (Evans, BAE)
Dempsey, Valencia, Sigurdsson, Bale, Ben Afra
    Pogrebnyak , RVP (Ba)

    Thanks for the help.

    • PLTApril 26, 2012 at 8:39 pmReply

Enrique is playing twice so has to be in your starting eleven. Jelavic seems like a perfect choice given form. Might be worth the 4 point hit.

hey hu shud i bring vdv or pienaar for maximum points and will pienaar be playing as he is caught in driving offence

  7. HannahApril 27, 2012 at 1:02 pmReply

Any help much appreciated, especially with it being a double gameweek for many teams:

    My team is currently:

    Vorm
    Baines Williams Simpson
Walcott Ben Arfa Sinclair Bale (V) Dempsey
    Adebayor Cisse (C)

Subs: Hilario, Walker, Zamora, Jose Enrique

I have 2 transfer this gameweek, with Walcott now being out for the season, Adebayor doubtful and Baines also out?

    Thank you
